FR MICHAEL OKAGBUE
Fr. Michael hails from Ikem Nando
in Anambra East Local Government Area. He was born on the 20th of January 1971.
He had his primary and secondary education at Ifite Primary School Nando and
Community Secondary School Nando. In 1993, he entered All Hallows Seminary, and
thereafter, he had his spiritual year formation at St Pius X Seminary
Akwu-Ukwu. His philosophical and theological training took place at Bigard
Memorial Seminary Enugu and Blessed Iwene Tansi Major Seminary Onitsha,
respectively. After his ordination on 27th August 2005, he served as Parish
Vicar at Most Holy Name of Mary Parish Abatete till January 19, 2008 when he
became the Parish Priest of St. Thomas Parish Uke.
In
October, 2014, he began his priestly ministry as the parish priest of St
Dominic Fegge Onitsha till October 2020 when he moved over to Immaculate Heart
of Mary Parish Fegge Onitsha as the parish priest.
With
the creation of Aguleri Diocese, he began his priestly ministry in the new
diocese on 9th October 2023. The Bishop of Aguleri Diocese, Most Rev. Denis Isizoh,
made him the Rector of Blessed Tansi National Shrine Aguleri, the Spiritual
Director of St Paul Seminary Igbariam and the priest-in-charge of St Patrick
Catholic Church, Igboezunu Aguleri.
In
addition, when he was in the Archdiocese of Onitsha he served as a regional
chaplain of the Catholic charismatic Renewal, the zonal chaplain of the CYON,
the Archdiocesan Chaplain of the Catholic Bible Society, the Archdiocesan
Chaplain of the Laity Council and the Archdiocesan/ Provincial Chaplain of the
Catholic Biblical Apostolate of Nigeria. He was also one of the teachers of the
archdiocesan Trinitas School of Evangelization and a member of the Archdiocese
Theological Conference Committee.
