REV. FR FIDELIS E. CHIEFE
Born on the 9th of
April 1964.
PARENTS: Chief Michael Izuchukwu
and Lolo Anna Mmaegbunam Chiefe, he is a native of Amaegbene Nando. His wife
Lolo Anna is a native of Aguleri both towns are in in Anambra East LGA of
Anambra State Nigeria.
Primary
Schools:
Premier Primary School Aguleri. Left Aguleri after Primary 1 to Onitsha to stay
with the in-law to start Primary 2 after about a year they were transferred to
Oguta. The in-law, Inspector Michael Ukadike a native of Asaba Delta State was
a Police man married to Miss Francisca Chiefe. At Oguta Fr Fidelis Chiefe began
his Primary 2. At the end of primary 2 they were transferred to Izombe, Imo
State, from there they were transferred to Aba, they stayed at Aba for about
two years and were transferred to Mbano.
He
lived with a priest, late Fr Michael Anyanwu at St Jude Umuelemai Mbano from
there Fr Fidelis Chiefe as a Mass server entered St Peter’s Preparatory
Seminary Ihite Etiti in Okigwe Diocese in 1982. After one year in Ihite aided by Seminarian
(later Rev. Fr) Anthony Igweagu, Fidelis Chiefe was admitted to St Paul’s
Seminary Ukpor. From Ukpor he went to All Hallows Seminary for senior secondary
school, and upon completion, was sent to SS. John & Paul Iba Pope Awada for
apostolic work under Very Rev Fr Anthony Igweagu.
In
1992 he entered the Spiritual Year Seminary, St Pius X Seminary Akwu-Ukwu
Anambra State. In October 1993 he entered Seat of Wisdom Major Seminary Owerri
Imo State. After his B.Phil. he was posted to St Paul Minor Seminary for
Auxiliaryship in 1998. Thereafter, in 1999 he went back to Seat of Wisdom Major
Seminary Owerri for his theological studies.
He
received his Diaconate Ordination in December 2001, and on 24th
August 2002 was ordained a priest by His Grace Most Rev. Valerian M. Okeke the
Archbishop of Onitsha.
