st. mary’s ugwunadagbe, Aguleri

St. Mary’s Parish, Ugwunadegbe was elevated to the status of a parish by his Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Valerian Okeke in 2009.
The journey to the status of a parish began on 29th June 1997 when some delegates met with the parish priest of St. Joseph’s parish(now Cathedral) to request for a priest who will be celebrating regular masses at the St. Mary’s outstation Ugwunadegbe as most of her members were already old and weak to be trekking to St. Francis Ivite Aguleri. This request was granted immediately with the assurance that the faithful would be dedicated to attending masses.
In 2009, the outstation was raised to the status of a parish with Rev. Fr. Oliver Idemili as the pioneer parish priest. In October 2015 Rev. Fr  Oliver Idemmill was changed with Rev. Fr Christopher  Odimegwu. Fr Odimegwu lasted till 2019 October when he was changed with Rev. Fr Martin Atumanya.
