Ss Peter & Paul was established I. 1894 marking the beginning of Christianity in Umuleri. Rev. Fr. Bisch first set his foot on the soil followed by Rev. Fr. Joseph Bubendorf.
Our Lady of Victory parish as an outstation to St. Joseph Aguleri. In 1956, Rev. Fr. Thomas Sweeney in collaboration with the Umueri community in Otuocha established Our Lady of Victory School which served as a building for both school activities on weekdays and Liturgical activities on Sundays.
In 1978, under the administration of Archbishop Francis Arinze now Cardinal, Our Lady of Victory Umueri was made a parish
