On Friday, 25th August, 2009, SS Peter and Paul station Obodo-Otu was carved out of Holy Trinity parish, Umuenwelum Anam.
The new independent station was placed under the cate of Late Fr. Joseph Amadi who was the priest in charge of Holy Trinity parish, Umuenwelum. At the demise of Fr. Amadi on 15TH January, 2011, Rev. Fr. Anselm Chidume was appointed the parish priest of Holy Trinity parish and administrators of Ss Peter and Paul station
On 12th March 2016, Ss Peter and Paul station was raised to the status of a parish by his Grace, Most Rev. Dr. Valerian Okeke.
