FR CALLISTUS AKORAH
Rev. Fr Chukwunweike Callistus
Akorah is a native of Eziagulu Aguleri in Anambra East Local Government Area of
Anambra State, Nigeria. He is a Catholic priest of Aguleri Diocese in Onitsha
Ecclesiastical Province. He was born in Aguleri on 9th July 1970.
Fr.
Callistus had his primary school Education at Premier primary school Aguleri
between 1977 and 1983. He had his junior seminary formation at St Paul’s Junior
Seminary at Umunuko Ukpor 1983-1985 and completed it at All Hallows Seminary
Onitsha between 1985 and 1989. He did his spiritual year programme at St Pius X
Seminary in Akwu-Ukwu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State,
Nigeria between 1991 and 1992.
He
proceeded for his philosophical studies at Seat of Wisdom Seminary Owerri, Imo
state Nigeria, which ran from 1992 to 2001, and was ordained a Catholic priest
by his Eminence Francis Cardinal Arinze in Holy Trinity Cathedral Onitsha, now
Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity Onitsha. After His ordination he worked in
the following Parishes/Institutions:

Pope John Paul II, Iba-Pope Awada
3.
Holy Spirit Parish Omagba
4.
St Gregory the Great Parish Iyiowa-Odekpe
5.
Kristi Bu Chukwu Parish Ogwuikpelle

Holy Cross Parish Nkpor
7.
St John the Baptist Catholic Church Odakpu Onitsha.
He later did his postgraduate
studies at Catholic Institute of West Africa (CIWA) Port Harcourt and obtained
his Masters and Licentiate in Canon Law between 2010 and 2013.
Fr. Callistus is presently one of
the judges in Onitsha-Aguleri Interdiocesan Tribunal.
Fr. Callistus enjoys Praying,
Reading, Meditation, playing Lawntennis and listening to Music.
Fr
Callistus Akorah is currently the parish priest of St. William’s Parish Nkwelle
Ezunaka.
