Holy Cross parish was carved out of Our Lady of Lourdes parish Mmiata-Anam on 30th December, 1981 with Rev. Fr. Basil Gbuzue as her first parish priest. The parish was made up of these towns: Oroma-etiti, Umudora, Umuikwu, Mbaito, Onono, Umuenwelum and Obodo-otu.
The parish had an outstation in each of these six towns but were however cut down to three after the creation of a parish in Umudora, Umuikwu, Mbaito and Onono. Futhermore, Holy Trinity Umuenwelum and Obodo-Ukwu were carved out leaving the main center with only two outstation in one town.
Outstations: St. Peter’s outstation, Agwe and Holy Family outstation, Ugbuada.
