holy trinity farm settlement, Igbariam

The beginning of the catholic church in farm Settlement dates back to 1962. It all started like planting a mustard seed on the 15th day of November 1962 when the first batch of 129 settled. Some settlers who were brought up with good catholic background saw no churches around to carry out their religious obligations. Very few of them were able to attend church services at the neighboring communities, namely Nando and Achalla. It became cumbersome to trek long distance to attend masses so they decided to organize their own prayers on Sundays.
In 1964, Late Mr. David Ezeani was sent with a request to the parish priest of St. Joseph Aguleri for a priest to be celebrating masses for them. The priest accepted their request on Holy Trinity Sunday in 1964.
Holy Trinity station then became an outstation to St. Raphael’s Awkuzu and later on to St. Anthony’s Igbariam in 1981. In 2003, Holy Trinity farm settlement was pronounced as a parish with Rev. Fr. Raymond Akpunonu as the pioneer parish priest
