St. Francis was created in the year 2005. The population of the parish as at last census was about 3594 (three thousand five hundred and ninety- four). The date and the year of first Holy Mass celebrated in St. Francis was on 9th January, Sunday 2005 by Rev. Fr. Augustine Chigbo, the pioneer parish priest.
The two outstations attached to St. Francis are St. Patrick Igboezunu and St. Peter’s Outstation.
Some of the pious societies in the parishes are: Legion of Mary, Our Mother of Perpetual Help, Charismatic Renewal Movement, St. Anthony of Padua and Tansi Solidarity Movement.
