Missionary work in Ifite-Ogwari had been very progressive in growth. Because of this growth in Catholic faith and distance of St. Anthony’s Parish, there was need for another parish, which made the Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Valerian Okeke to create another parish, Maria Assumpta parish, Aniocha Ifite-Ogwari in 2018 at the peoples’ request and requested the parish priest of St. Anthony, Rev. Fr Joachim Igwe to be in charge of the new parish. At the completion of their father’s house in 2022, a resident priest, Rev. Fr Ernest Esikaikwu was assigned to take care of the parish as the proper pastor; then in October 2023 Rev Fr. Ugwu Johnbosco of USOA was appointed as the new Parish priest.
Ifite-Ogwari has for now the following indigenous Priests:
Rev. Frs Michael Okechukwu Machi, John Kachikwulu Ekwunife, Gabriel M.P. Okoye, Basil Anumudu Ekwunife, Johnsmart Mgbakor, Innocent Nwalieji, Samuel T. Chiozie, Hilary Obi Nweke, Vincent Okafor, Anthony Okeke, Emmanuel Nweke and Innocent Okonkwo.
Ifite-Ogwari has for now the following indigenous sisters:
Rev. Srs Miriam Cecilia Ekwunife (OSB), Theresa Obiamma Okafor (DDL now lost to death), Mary Roseline Onyejekwe (DDL), Mary Caroline Aloma Okeke (DDL), Uche Chichetam Maduchie (DDL), Mary Chiađika Chukwuemeka (DDL), Theresa Onuekwe (Carmelite), Dorothy Okonkwo Ndibe (MSDM), and Mary Paschal Mabia (OSB).
The ongoing projects in the parish include: school, chapel, fencing of the church premises and the parish is trying to acquire new lands.
Ifte-Ogwari has many indigenous Seminarians and Aspirants to Religious life.
