St. Paul’s Parish was carved out of St. Anthony’s Ifite-Ogwari in an effort to bring the church closer to the people and for easy propagation of the gospel.
Hence, St. Paul’s parish was created with Rev. Fr. Vincent Obi as the pioneer parish priest. The first holy mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Vincent Obi on 21st January, 2007.
In 25th January 20017, Rev. Fr Vincent Obi took the mantle of leadership as the pioneer parish priest of the new St Paul’s parish Omasi-Agu. On assumption of duty he roofed the church built the chapel of Adoration, constructed carlvery, built John Odegbo Memorial Secondary School, Omasi-Agu, constructed Michael Chidume bus stop, built Virgin Mary grotto at Ugbene market square, built the parish house, built the grotto of our Lady’s shrine of St Anthony, built Lawrence
Okeji plaza etc. He handed over to Rev. Fr Mathias Okoro. Rev. Fr Mathias Okoro resumed duty on Sept. 2012, he witness a heavy blow mainly in the physical structures causing him to renovate the church which was destroyed by wind, he also built boys quarters, and constructed bore holes. Rev. Fr Mathias Okoro handed over to Rev. Fr Peter Obimma. Rev. Fr Peter Obimma resumed in September 2018, he rededicated the church, fenced the church premises. And handed over to Rev. Fr Leonard Ikechukwu Ugwuanyi on 14th October 2023.
He resumed work and did 21 days novena to sanctify the land, meet with the Ideomasi (elders of the village and the Igwe in Council) to tell then that he is the new priest sent to their parish and assured them that he would work with them to ensure peace, unity and progress of the town. He renovated the church building that was leaking and also replaced keys of some necessary places to ensure security, did harvest of the year on 31st January 2023. He also seeks for funds to revitalize the dilapidated John ode Igbo memorial Secondary school Omasi-Agu that stopped working before he arrived. So far, he has conducted 3 weddings 2 being on 29th December 2023 and 1 being on 5January. He also conducted infant baptism in which he baptised 5 children.
